Business Opportunity Or The Product – Which One Do I Market?
Posted on 04. Mar, 2010 by David Dunford.
For the majority of us there have been many occasions where we have heard about someone’s miracle drug or how you just have to get in on the ground level of this new business opportunity but what they are failing to realise is that most people aren’t just looking for the next new product or new opportunity that they know nothing about, but rather a system they are sure can be easily followed, alongside of someone whom they trust. How can that be achieved you might ask?
Let’s start right from the beginning.
The world is sold on marketing not products.
We see this proven well in the fast food industry. Regardless of our own preferential tastes for food, we see that an average product marketed well can be very successful. This works just the same on the other side of the fence being that you can have a fantastic product, but if marketed poorly then you are unlikely to see your business become successful.
Now that we have established that your marketing will drive your home based business and not the product itself, we need to address what we will market. The important thing many people forget in network marketing is that the prospective business partner (pbp), if and when they join your opportunity, will be running a home based business too. What that means is that they will have to go through the start up process and start marketing their new opportunity. This can be rather daunting if they don’t know what they are doing.
2 points to ponder here.
Firstly if a potential business partner is only partially interested in the network marketing product then why would you continue to push the benefits of the products?
Secondly if you are part of a network marketing company and are pushing the great compensation plan, or possibly the opportunity to get in on the ground floor level but are not showing people how this can be achieved then you are again doing yourself a disservice.
So which one do you market? Market the system.
This might sound foreign to some but the majority of people want to follow. Being a born leader is a true privilege but if people are not shown how to follow then they are not given a level of confidence that their business will also succeed. Marketing a network marketing business is very much like selling a franchise. Franchisor’s continuously market their system to potentials franchisees. As we spoke of before, some of the greatest fast food chains have created systems that can be followed by just about anyone. The potential franchisee isn’t as concerned with how much he or she likes the product or how much they can ‘potentially’ earn, but rather their main concern is on how effective the system is and how that system has performed for others in the past.
This needs to be the same in your home based business if you desire to grow your business effectively. Marketing the system not only breeds confidence in others that they can also achieve results but also focuses on duplication, as one of the most powerful tools in network marketing is your ability to show someone how to duplicate your success.

Do you react when the economy takes a spiralling dive?
Posted on 27. Feb, 2010 by David Dunford.
As the months and years go bye we see global financial crises becoming a far greater threat but the truth of the matter is our response that will determine our personal outcome of either growth or destruction.
During 2009 many individuals took a different view of how the world evolves around them and started seeing the ‘doom and gloom’ as the path of our future, therefore breeding uncertainty in the hearts of the masses.
The interesting point is that when we shift our focus and attention onto something there is an unexplainable force that literally pulls us in that direction.
As for the economic situations we continually face it is merely a shift of wealth from the poor and middle class to the rich and wealthy once again, writing yet another mirrored chapter in the books of history.
You see, the way in which the masses react to these different circumstances is directly related to our outlook for the future and belief in which side of the fence we truly belong. If you truly believe you belong on the wealthy side of the fence then your focus will be on the opportunities that present themselves time and time again rather than the negativity and destruction that is constantly brought to our attention.
Nobody needs a degree to see that the majority of our media announcements primarily focuses their stories on negative outcomes. These constant reminders are like a small cardboard box that keep us ‘protected’ from the pain we continually try and avoid, or is it really our way of making excuses for not achieving greater results?
So, with a never ending voice that continually tries to keep us in the poor to middle class group of citizens through the reminding of devastation that goes on around us, how do we make the shift to truly believe we live on the wealthy side?
It all starts with an unwavering mindset of belief and understanding that we all have the very same amount of wealth locked up inside. The key is to open up those doors through our choices.
Just remember every successful person has at least 2 things in common with you.
1/ They once started out with no knowledge of success.
2/ Choices. They just decided to make different ones than most.
In times of economic instability the poor react, while the wealthy in mind make choices and act.
Do you react or act in uncertain times? Ready to act?

Do You Just Have Good Intentions… OR a Self Fulfilling Prophecy?
Posted on 12. Feb, 2010 by David Dunford.
Couldn’t you just throw your arms up in the air when someone you know ‘flooks’ their way into a successful position?
Boy does it get frustrating at times when you just don’t know what is going on. You’re doing all the ‘right things’ working your butt off but somehow your pennies never align like everyone else does. You’ve even tried mirroring their actions with little success. So just how are you going to get the tides to turn on your so called ‘luck’?
Well first of all it has nothing to do with luck but rather 3 very simple words – Self Fulfilling Prophecy. Unbeknown to our conscious minds, at certain times in our lives we have a number of expectations on ourselves and others. These expectations can be summed up into what I like to call the ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ boxes.
No I don’t REALLY believe I can do what I am setting out to do and therefore subconsciously expect failure regardless of my intentions. On the other hand, testing has proven that even an expectation on others to perform well (such as a child’s progress at school) dramatically changes the outcome purely from our subconscious expectations and the way we then communicate towards them.
So to wrap up this short post, how hard have you been working at something but to receive little reward? Maybe you just need to create a self fulfilling prophecy which will have a powerful effect on the desired outcome.
Take a look at the video below. And by the way, I’ve already spoken with Kevin and said He thinks you’re still cool!
Go and start creating some Self Fulfilling Prophecies!
